Beximco Dhaka captain Mushfiqur was found guilty of showing insulting gesture towards his teammate Nasum Ahmed during the match which constitutes to a Level 1 (2.6) Offense
Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been fined 25 percent of his match fees for breaching Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Code of Conduct during his side Beximco Dhaka’s Elimnator match against Fortune Barishal in Bangabandhu T20 Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.
Beximco Dhaka captain Mushfiq was found guilty of showing insulting gesture towards his teammate Nasum Ahmed during the match which constitutes to a Level 1 (2.6) Offense.
In addition to the sanction imposed, one (01) demerit point has been added to Mushfiqur’s disciplinary record. Pursuant to Article 7.5 of the Code, if Mushfiqur reaches four (04) or more demerit points in the tournament, the points will then be converted into match suspension and he will be banned. Four demerit points equate to a ban from one (01) match.
Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official warning and a maximum penalty of a fine of 50 percent of a player’s match fees, and impose one or two demerit points.
Mushfiq accepted the sanction and as such no official hearing was required.

Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiq faced heavy criticism both on mainstream and social media as the cricketer created a very unwanted scene. The experienced campaigner lost his cool and twice showed aggressive gestures towards his team mate Nasum during the game.
The first incident happened during the 13th over of the run chase. Barishal batsman Afif Hossain struck a big six in the first ball off left-arm spinner Nasum before taking a quick single the following delivery.
Both Mushfiq, the wicket-keeper, and Nasum, the bowler, chased the ball and the former reached there before colliding with each other. That incident brought out the rough visage of the diminutive man as he angrily showed a gesture of punching a much taller Nasum.
Mushfiq, who has been playing international cricket for over a decade and a half, became even more aggressive during the second incident. Well-set Afif, who was on 55, top-edged the last ball off left-arm paceman Shafiqul Islam in the 17th over and Nasum naturally went for the catch from short fine-leg position.
However, Mushfiq also had the same intention and called the junior player to leave the catch for him. Nasum somehow avoided the collision and the man with the gloves held onto the important catch. But that did not appease angry Mushfiq and he went berserk at his younger team-mate.
Mushfiqur later on Tuesday morning took to his official social fan page to apologize to Nasum over the incident.
