Bangladesh will likely to travel the island nation in last week of September for three-match Test series, as part of the World Test Championship

Update : 20 Aug 2020, 08:31 PM

Bangladesh batting consultant Neil McKenzie is yet to confirm his participation in the coaching staff for the forthcoming Sri Lanka Test series and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is still waiting for his confirmation.

Bangladesh will likely to travel the island nation in last week of September for three-match Test series, as part of the World Test Championship.

The series will be the first for Bangladesh since the country suspended all cricketing activities in mid-March this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All the foreign coaches of the coaching staffs are expected to arrive in Dhaka before the training camp starts and they will undergo required quarantined process.

BCB are trying to reach Mckenzi about his availability and if the former South African batsman is not available then BCB may go for other options.

“Our batting consultant Mckenzi has not confirmed yet about his participation for the upcoming three match Test series against Sri Lanka. We will contact with him in the next few days and if he is unavailable then we will search for other options,'' said BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan to the media.

According to sources BCB have few options regarding batting consultant for Sri Lanka series and one of them is New Zealand’s Craig McMillan.

Mckenzi, who is now in South Africa, joined Bangladesh team as batting consultant in July 2018 replacing Sri Lankan Thilan Samaraweera.
