Former Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has tested Covid-19 positive once again. As per close sources to the veteran right-arm pacer, he underwent the test four days ago and the report revealed he has not recovered from the deadly disease.
Mashrafe was first revealed to be infected by the disease on June 20, and has been in isolation and receiving treatment at home since then. However, reports from the second test revealed Mashrafe still needs to get cured from the virus.
After Mashrafe, his younger brother Morsalin bin Mortaza, was reported of getting infected by the disease.
It is believed that Mashrafe, who is also a member of the parliament from Narail 2 constituency, had picked the virus while he was moving out to perform his responsibility. The right-arm pacer had stepped down as the most successful ODI captain of the country in March this year after leading Bangladesh to a 3-0 win against Zimbabwe at home.
The number of total confirmed Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh till Saturday afternoon climbed to 159,679 with 1,997 deaths. A total of 70,721 patients — 44.29% of all infected — made full recovery around the country, since the first Covid-19 cases were recorded on March 8.
