A brilliant unbeaten century from Farhad Reza took BCB South Zone to 486 in their first innings on day two of the Bangladesh Cricket League final at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong yesterday.
In reply, East Zone finished the day on 110 runs for the loss of three wickets, trailing by 376 runs.
Earlier, in-form Shamsur Rahman scored 79 with ten boundaries before getting dismissed leg before wicket by spinner Saqlain Sojib. Subsequently, Farhad Reza stole the show his century in the late middle order to put South in a strong position.

East Zone openers Mohammad Ashraful and Pinak Ghosh started well and batted 20 overs before Ashraful was bowled by South skipper Abdur Razzak on the first ball of 21st over after he had scored 28 runs.
Other opener Pinak also returned to the pavilion a little later after scoring 38.
East Zone lost another crucial wicket before the close of day two when captain Imrul Kayes was dismissed by pacer Shafiul Islam after scoring 22 runs with three boundaries.
Mahmudul Hasan was batting on 22 with Afif Hossian not out on naught at stumps.
