Bangladesh‘s ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is selected in the Wisden’s Men’s ODI team of the decade as the prestigious newspaper announced an eleven according to the performance of the best players around the globe.

Wisden Almanack, a British annual magazine, which is known as bible of cricket, posted the name of the players in their website through a podcast on Saturday.

Shakib, who was phenomenal in the World Cup this year, has played 131 ODIs in this decade and picking up 177 wickets, highest among spinners in the world during the span, at an average of 30.15. He scored 4276 runs at an average of 38.87 in those matches.

The other players are India’s Rohit Sharma, Australia’s David Warner, Indian captain Virat Kohli, South African AB de Villers, England’s Jos Butler, India’s World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni, Sri Lanka’s paceman Lasith Malinga, Australia’s speedster Mitchell Starc, New Zealand’s Trent Boult and South African Dale Steyn.

The selectors commented that the only recognized spinner of this imaginary squad, Shakib, will not only be important as a bowler but also will be an important component in the middle order of the star-studded batting lineup.
