Bangladesh men’s under 23 team have defeated Sri Lanka under 23 team by seven wickets margin to clinch the gold medal during their South Asian Games Men's Cricket Competition final at Kirtipur, Nepal on Monday.
Chasing to 123 to win, Bangladesh reached their target in 18.1 overs losing just three wickets. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was the top scorer with an unbeaten 35 run innings while Saif Hassan and Soumya Sarker scored 33 and 27 respectively.
Earlier, Sri Lanka managed to score only 122 losing all of their wickets in 20 overs. Hasan Mahmud picked three wickets for Bangladesh conceding just 20 runs in his four overs while Tanvir Islam took two.
