Bangladesh, who comprehensively lost the group stage encounter between the two sides on Sunday, improved their bowling dramatically in the space of 24 hours, bundling out the opponents for just 122 runs after winnings the toss

The Bangladesh men’s under-23 team has defeated the Sri Lanka under-23 team by a seven wicket margin to clinch the gold medal of the South Asian Games Men's Cricket Competition at Kirtipur, Nepal Monday. 

Bangladesh, who comprehensively lost the group stage encounter between the two sides on Sunday, improved their bowling dramatically in the space of 24 hours, bundling out the opponents for just 122 runs after winnings the toss. 

The batsmen did the rest, scoring 125/3 in 18.3 overs to emerge victorious.

Hasan Mahmud, a 20-year old medium pacer, emerged as the hero with bowling figures of 3/20 after four overs and was adjudged the man of the match. 

Among the Bangladesh batsmen, Saif Hasan and Soumya Sarkar formed a solid opening stand of 44 before Saif added another 39 runs with skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who finished not out on 35, to reach the target with ease.
