Bangladesh U-19's Tawhid Hridoy plays a shot against their Sri Lanka counterparts in Chittagong Dhaka Tribune

Towhid, who is in sublime touch scoring 123 not out and 82 not out in previous two matches of the series, continued his juggernaut as his 120-ball innings orchestrated his side to reach 265/5 in 47.2 overs replying Sri Lanka’s 260/7 to clinch a five-wicket win

Towhid Hridoy made another century for Bangladesh under-19 as they took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match youth one-day series against Sri Lanka under-19 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram Sunday.

Towhid, who is in sublime touch scoring 123 not out and 82 not out in previous two matches of the series, continued his juggernaut as his 120-ball innings orchestrated his side to reach 265/5 in 47.2 overs replying Sri Lanka’s 260/7 to clinch a five-wicket win.

Towhid struck nine fours and three sixes in his innings and got great support from his captain Akbar Ali, who remained not out on 66 to navigate his side home, as the duo formed a match winning 110-run fourth wicket stand.

Earlier on, after winning the toss all the first seven batsmen of Sri Lanka got scores over 20 but none could reach half century as Sonal Dinusha was the highest scorer with 43. As a result the visitors ended with a score that looked below par against the in-form hosts. Tanzim Hasan Sakib got highest three wickets for young Tigers.

After a 0-0 draw of the two-match Test series, the first match of the ODI series was washed out before Bangladesh winning the second  and third match by five wickets and 161 runs respectively. The final match of the series will take place in the same venue Tuesday.
