Naim regrets despite playing a majestic knock

The 20-year old batsman shared his feeling to media at Indore team hotel on Monday morning before departing for Bangladesh

Update : 11 Nov 2019, 09:04 PM

Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim’s brilliant 81 runs innings with ten fours and two sixes was not enough for Tigers to win the third game and cinch the series as middle order batsmen could not manage to fulfill their responsibilities.

It could have been a brilliant night for Naim, lifting the trophy and receiving man of the match had Bangladesh not lost the match in that way.

Despite the innings, one of the finest in this format by a Bangladeshi, went in vein, it received many plaudits.

The 20-year old batsman shared his feeling to media at Indore team hotel on Monday morning before departing for Bangladesh. Here are the excerpts:

Regret losing the series?

Obviously. It would have been great if we could win the match and series. It feels bad that we were not able the win the series. We would have win if we could manage to form another partnership in the middle.

About your style of play in last game?

I tried to bat according to match situation. There was nothing like attacking style of play.

Tell us about your dismissal and about missing the chance of scoring a century?

I think that was the best ball in our innings. I did not play for my century. I tried to win the game for my team.

Your plan with Mithun during the partnership?

We discussed about finishing the game. We were planning to chase the target without getting out.

About your debut series?

The experience of my debut was fantastic. As we have won that match and it was my debut match, the feeling was great.

Future plan?

I am not thinking about my future now. We will play emerging Asia Cup soon and I am planning about that. Now I am not thinking about scoring the highest run in the series. I am focusing on match by match.
