Khulna v Rangpur

The last day of the match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium swung back and forth like a pendulum, with both Khulna and Rangpur holding hopes of winning the match until the very end. However, the resilience of Khulna’s last pair ensured that they emerged victorious.

Last man Abdul Halim joined Moinul Islam at the crease with Khulna’s score at 187, a total 16 runs away from victory. The tail-ender showed dogged resistance, scoring two runs after facing 20 balls in a 34-minute knock that earned crucial time for Moinul to score the winning runs.

Moinul finished the innings not out on 16.

Khulna resumed batting on the day with the score 130/5, as they chased a 203-run target set by Rangpur. The former appeared to be cruising until Mahedi Hasan lost his wicket to Shuhrawardi Shuvo after scoring 56, leaving the side at 177/6.

Ziaur Rahman, the other batsman who had ended the previous days play at the crease, became Shuvo’s sixth victim of the innings just seven runs later, as he was bowled out on 53.

Rangpur off-spinner Mahmudul Hasan wreaked havoc in the very next over, picking up the wickets of Abdur Razzak and Rubel Hossain with consecutive deliveries to leave Khulna on 187/9, before Moinul and Abdul Halim closed out the innings.

Mahedi Hasan, who scored 119 out of Khulna’s 233 runs in the first innings while batting at number eight, was adjudged man of the match. Rangpur posted 224 in the first innings after losing the toss, and scored 211 in their second.

Dhaka v Rajshahi

Resuming the day’s play on 77/3, Rajshahi needed to reach 245 to avoiding an innings defeat, but were bundled out for 241 to lose by an innings ant three runs at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground in Cox’s Bazar.
