The Bangladesh U16 cricket team departed for Pakistan Monday while the Bangladesh national women’s team are set to travel to the same country Tuesday, following clearance regarding the security arrangements made by the host nation.
The travels of the two Bangladesh teams were put on hold to wait for a security clearance from a team of Bangladeshi officials who toured Pakistan to assess the security arrangements, which came on Monday.
The security assessment report is also likely to decide the future of Bangladesh national men’s team tour of Pakistan in January next year. A confirmation on the tour was pending when this report was filed.
The Bangladesh U16 team, in their 18-day long tour of Pakistan, are scheduled to play two three-day matches and three one dayers against the hosts. All the matches will be held at Rawalpindi’s Khan Research Laboratories Ground.
The Bangladesh national women’s team, in their 13-day-long tour, are to take part in a three-match T20I series and a two-match ODI series against Pakistan national women’s team. All the matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
