“The boys have played a lot of cricket before the Eid. They have their break. Now they need to get things to swing. Obviously, it is very important for us to keep developing. The great thing to play in an U-23 tournament is to give the players the opportunity to help them get ready to play for the national team,” said Helmot at the BCB academy premises Friday.
“I want the players to get a good opportunity to perform against unfamiliar international opposition. When you play for the national team you play against the players you don't know very well in unfamiliar surrounds. We will play in the known condition but we will play against the bowlers, against the batsmen we might not know very well,” he added.
The second and third will take place Wednesday and Saturday at BKSP and Khulna’s Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium respectively.
The two teams will also face each other in two four-day matches in Khulna.
