Bangladesh's Mahmudullah plays a shot during their World Cup match against South Africa in London Sunday Dhaka Tribune/Md Manik from London

After a good start at the top and solid batting in the middle overs, the stage was set for Mahmudullah to fulfill his role and the right-handed batsman did it quite brilliantly

Mahmudullah usually bats at crucial positions in the Tigers’ batting line-up as he often he has to do the job of finishing the match or scoring quick runs in the death overs.

After a good start at the top and solid batting in the middle overs, the stage was set for Mahmudullah to fulfill his role and the right-handed batsman did it quite brilliantly.

Bangladesh scored just 27 runs in between overs 41-45 and seemed to slow down a little bit at that point.

But in the last five overs, they scored 59 runs thanks to Mammudullah’s unbeaten 46 off 33 deliveries with three boundaries and a six in the last over against Kagiso Rabada.

And in the end, Bangladesh scored a challenging 330 for the loss of six wickets.

A timely innings from Mahmudullah, and job well done.
