Ahead of the final, Shakib al Hasan did not train Thursday although he did some swimming at the team hotel, while the Bangladesh team had an optional practice session
Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is a major doubt for their tri-nation ODI series final against the West Indies in Dublin Friday after incurring a side strain injury in their last round robin match against Ireland Wednesday.
Ahead of the final, Shakib did not train Thursday although he did some swimming at the team hotel, while the Bangladesh team had an optional practice session.
On the eve of the grand finale, Tigers captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza said, "He is uncertain for the final. Actually his situation is a bit tricky. It mainly depends on him whether he can play or not. Actually, there is no doctor or physio in the world who can heal that kind of an injury within a few hours, or within 24 hours for that matter. It’s important how Shakib feels about this. If he feels confident, then he will play. We can't say anything concrete at the moment. We will take a final decision [Friday] before the game."

Shakib has scores of 50 not out, 29 and 61 in his last three ODIs in the series.
He also made 54 in the lone practice match against Ireland Wolves earlier this month.
The left-hander is in good form with the ball as well as he bowled consistently throughout the series so far.
With the World Cup in England and Wales looming on the horizon, the team management might consider resting him for the final.
But in the end, it all depends on Shakib himself and how he feels on the matchday.
