The third and the final one-day of the series will be played at the same venue on Wednesday
Hosts Bangladesh U16 won the second match of the three-match one day series against Pakistan U16 to seal the series with a game to spare. The young Tigers bagged a 17-run win over the tourists at Khulna’s Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium on Monday, a result yet again driven from a team effort.
Opted to bat first Bangladesh U16 posted 259 runs losing seven wickets in 50 overs. Mofizul Islam Robin scored 69 off 102 with three boundaries and two over boundaries while Aich Mollah added 52 runs to the tally and helped the home side put a competitive total on the board. Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi, who was adjudged as man of the match for his all-round performance, remained unbeaten on 44. Aseer Mughal topped among the Pakistan bowlers, picking up three scalps.
While defending the target, the Bangladesh side received early advantage as Rabbi picked up three wickets to put Pakistan’s chase into struggle. The visitors, in the end, could only score 242/9, falling short of the target despite playing the full 50 overs. Opener Sameer Saqib scored 55 for the visitors.
The third and the final one-day of the series will be played at the same venue on Wednesday. Bangladesh U16 had earlier won the two-match four-day cricket series 1-0. The second game of the series had ended as a draw.
