Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes informed that the team are happy with newcomers Yasir Ali and the veteran Farhad Reza in the Ireland tri-nation ODI series.

For the series, the Tigers picked 19 players in the squad, including the 15 men who are part of the World Cup contingent.

Nayeem Hasan, Yasir, Taskin Ahmed and Farhad were included along with the Tigers’ World Cup squad.

Among these four, Yasir and Farhad have joined the national team for the first time under head coach Rhodes’ tenure.

And the head coach informed that the management is watching these players closely, and how they train in the national team set-up, and added that they have performed well so far.

“If we could win this game then we could give chance to some other player. That’s true. But game washed out, that may affect some of the opportunities for them. But about Yasir and Farhad, I have watched them play in domestic and I liked the way they play,” Rhodes informed.

“As a coach I wanted to see them closer and their professionalism, how they practice with the national team. Both of them have done a really good job so far. Hopefully they will get a chance, even if they don’t get a chance, we still have watched them with the team. That’s one of the reasons why we have brought them here for the tri-nation series,” he added.

Bangladesh won convincingly against the West Indies in their first ODI of the series Tuesday in Dublin.

With their second game against Ireland washed out, the Tigers will play their next match against the Windies again Monday.
