Shakib al Hasan looks a lot fitter these days and the all-rounder confirmed this himself, saying he has lost six kgs in the last four weeks
Bangladesh vice captain Shakib al Hasan took a leaf out of Bollywood flick Kick, starring Salman Khan, while describing his fitness.
Shakib looks a lot fitter these days and the all-rounder confirmed this himself, saying he has lost six kgs in the last four weeks.
“At times, you kind of need a “kick”, much like the movie “Kick”. Some way or the other, I got that kick. How, let it remain a secret. But somehow it has happened, and I could feel it. It’s not like it’s something big, but there has certainly been a kick,” said Shakib to the media in Dublin Wednesday.

“I was a lot fitter before 2011. Since then, I didn’t really get sufficient time to work on my fitness. The stubbornness was also not there perhaps. But now I have the kick to work on my fitness.”
In their first ODI of the tri-nation series against the West Indies in Dublin Tuesday, Bangladesh registered a comprehensive eight-wicket win with Shakib playing a starring role with both bat and ball.
Shakib took the wicket of Darren Bravo, conceding a respectable 33 runs in his quota of 10 overs, and later made an unbeaten run-a-ball 61.
