Rupganj’s Mohammad Naim was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock
Legends of Rupganj secured a 88-run victory over Prime Bank Cricket Club at the Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday. With the win they ended up as the runners-up with 26 points, despite having the equal number of points Abahani Limited had, but the latter won the league thanks to their superior run-rate.
Rupganj scored a commanding 327 runs losing just four wickets in their stipulated 50 overs while batting first in Mirpur after losing the toss.
Rupganj openers Mohammad Naim and Mehedi Maruf gave them a solid start before the latter was dismissed for 54 leaving the side on 129/1 in the 19th over.

Naim went on to pick up his ton and formed another century stand with Mominul Haque (52 off 59 balls) as the pair added 114 runs in their second wicket stand.
Naim ultimately scored 136 off 130 balls with the aid of 19 fours. After his departure, Jaker Ali (27 off 19) and Muktar Ali( 22 off 9) played two quick-fire innings to put a big score on the board.
In reply, Prime Bank started well as their openers scored 60 odd runs in 10 overs. But Rupganj pacer Mohammad Shahid made the breakthrough as Prime Bank captain Anamul Haque went back to the pavilion after scoring 26.
Prime Bank could not capitalize the good start and they lost regular wickets in the middle period of the innings.
Eventually, they were all out for 239 runs in 42.1 overs.
Mohammad Shahid was the pick of the bowlers getting four wickets, conceding only 22 runs for Rupganj.
