Gazi Group Cricketers made a stunning comeback to clinch a nine-run victory over Brothers Union in the Dhaka Premier League in Savar Friday.
Brothers elected to field first and Gazi Group lost two early wickets as they lost opener Mysukur Rahman (one) and captain Imrul Kayes for nought within four overs.
The loss of regular wickets kept their score in check and eventually, they managed to score 206 losing all of their wickets in 49.4 overs.
Pakistani recruit Kamran Ghulam produced a good innings batting in the middle-order, making 81 off 101 deliveries with 10 boundaries and a couple of sixes.
Opener Mehedi Hasan scored a run-a-ball 48.
Sajedul Islam took four wickets for Brothers.
In pursuit of the target, Brothers started confidently as they made 136 for one in 32 over, riding on Junaid Siddique’s 72.
But Bothers lost two key wickets in back to back deliveries in the 33rd over - Junaid (72) and Fazle Mahmud (31) - and thus, lost the momentum.
From 136/1, they were bundled out for 197, meaning they lost nine wickets for 61 runs and fell nine short of the target.
