Uttara stun Mohammedan

Saturday, the Dhaka Premier League observed an action packed, thrilling day as one of the matches ended in a tie, one match saw a team chase 330 successfully, while in the other game, a bottom-ranked side upset a top outfit.

Uttara Sporting Club shocked Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited as they reached 194/3 in 40 overs in pursuit of 193, thanks to a 101 not out innings by teen-ager Tanzid Hasan, at BKSP.

After losing the toss Mohammedan batsmen never got going and were ultimately bundled out for 193 with Nadif Chowdhury making the highest 39, while Shafiul Islam and Mohammad Ashraful scored 29 and 28 respectively.

Abdur Rashid and Asaduzzaman Payel got three wickets each for Uttara.

In reply, the 19-year old Tanzid posted his first List A century and remained not out to earn two points for his side. 

The left-handed batsman struck 10 fours and three sixes in his 120-ball innings.
