Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity crumbled to yet another defeat, this time against Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, who registered a seven-wicket victory in their Dhaka Premier League match at BKSP in Savar Saturday.

Doleshwar opener Saif Hasan was the highlight performer of the day, as he remained unbeaten on 132.

At the end of round five, Abahani Limited, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Doleshwar and Legends of Rupganj are the early board leaders with four wins apiece.

With only one victory each, Shinepukur Cricket Club, Khelaghar and Uttara Sporting Club are at the bottom of the points table.

Saif’s undefeated century powered Doleshwar to their fourth win of the season as they recorded a facile victory over Khelaghar with 20 balls in hand.

Sent in to bat first, Khelaghar saw wicketkeeper-batsman Mahidul Islam add 86 and opener Sadikur Rahman add 58 to the tally.

A below-par performance from the middle-order however, meant Khelaghar finish on 257 in their allotted 50 overs as Doleshwar medium-pacer Farhad Reza scalped three wickets, while Abu Jayed and Saykat Ali picked up two scalps each.

Later, Saif remained not out on 132 off 134 with nine fours and three sixes to inspire Doleshwar to victory.

Khelaghar’s bowling unit struggled as they removed only three Doleshwar batsmen before the target got chased down in 46.4 overs.

ROUND 5
