ULAB registers big win in Fair Play Cup

Anjum Ahmed of ULAB was adjudged man-of-the-match

Anjum Ahmed was adjudged man-of-the-match as he took four wickets for just 15 runs in his allotted four overs and also scored 22 runs off 15 balls

University of Liberal Arts (ULAB) defeated European University of Bangladesh (EUB) by nine wickets in their T20 match of the 12th ULAB Fair Play Cup, an inter-university cricket tournament, at the ULAB cricket ground on Wednesday.

In the other match of the day, Prime University defeated BUBT.

ULAB vs EUB

After winning the toss, EUB decided to bat first, but managed to score only 73 runs in 15.3 overs before losing all of their wickets.

In reply, ULAB scored the runs in just 7.1 overs for the loss of one wicket. 

Opener Sabit Hossain remained not out on 32 off 21 deliveries with five fours and one six while Maraj Niloy was not out on 21 off just seven balls with two boundaries and as many maximums.

Anjum Ahmed was adjudged man-of-the-match as he took four wickets for just 15 runs in his allotted four overs and also scored 22 runs off 15 balls.

PRU vs BUBT

BUBT won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a below par 127/8 in their 20 overs.

Batsman Arif Moon was the top scorer with 58 runs from 38 balls in an innings that had six fours and three sixes.

Arman Abdullah was the pick of the bowlers for Prime University taking 3/15 in his four overs.

In reply, Prime University reached the target losing just four wickets and with five overs to spare.

Batsman Emran Rafi was the top scorer with 62 from 36 balls before being run-out to anchor the chase and guide his side home and as a result was also the man-of-the-match
