Defending champions Abahani Limited kept their winning run as they defeated Shinepukur Cricket Club at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali stadium in Fatullah on Tuesday.
Abahani decided to field after winning the toss and Shinepukur lost three top order batsman for 40 runs thanks to some excellent bowling from Rubel Hossain.
Towhid Hridoy and captain Afif Hossain then formed a partnership of 81 runs before Afif lost his wicket after scoring 48 runs.
Towhid was the next to depart having scored 39 and that put Abahani on top yet again with the score at 129/5.
Shinepukur never really recovered and eventually managed a below par 203/9 in their 50 overs with Mosaddek Hossain taking three wickets and Nazmul Hossain taking two in the latter part of the innings for Abahani.

Jaffar (76) though, guided the chase and formed another good partnership with Najmul Hossain Shanto (42) but Shinepukur struck back has both batsmen departed in quick succession, thanks to Shoriful Islam.
A few more wickets fell to give the Abahani chase a few jitters but then Sabbir Rahman and Munim Shahriar saw the chase through and guided Abahahi to a win by five wickets and nine deliveries to spare.
Jaffar was man-of-the-match for his innings which included four boundaries.
Abahani 206/5 in 48.3 overs (Jaffer 76, Shoriful 3-44) beat Shinepukur 203/9 in 50 overs (Afif 48, Mosaddek 3-41) by 5 wickets
