Bangladesh University of Business and Technology beat Uttara University by seven wickets while Daffodil University defeated United International University by eight wickets
Bangladesh University of Business and Technology and Daffodil University won their respective matches on the opening day of the University of Liberal Arts, Bangladesh’s Fair Play Cup Saturday.
BUBT beat Uttara University by seven wickets while Daffodil defeated United International University by eight wickets.
In the tournament opener, Uttara, asked to bat first, posted 100 runs before losing all of their wickets in 18 overs.
In reply, BUBT coasted home in 14.1 overs.
In the other match, UIU, taking first guard, registered 130 on the board for the loss of seven wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.
Daffodil, in pursuit of the target, reached their destination with relative ease, player of the match Saiful Ratul scoring 21 runs to go with his two wickets earlier.
A total of 10 universities are taking part in the tournament – BUBT, UU, UIU, Daffodil, Brac University, Independent University Bangladesh, Prime University, Stamford University Bangladesh, ULAB and European University of Bangladesh.
