In the first day of 50 over matches in the Dhaka Premier League, Legends of Rupganj clinched a three-wicket win over Brothers Union at BKSP on Friday.
Asked to bat first, Brothers looked in all sorts of trouble when they had lost half of their side for just 82 in the 26th over.
But from there, Yasir Ali and Sharifullah stitched together a 90-run partnership to take the score to 172 before Yasir departed scoring 65.
Sharifullah went a few balls later scoring 35 and it was up to the tail to take the total past 200.
Eventually Mohammad Sharif (24) and Habibur Rahman (20) helped Brothers post 220/8 in their 50 overs.
In reply, Rupganj got off to a solid start as the openers Azmir Ahmed (38) and Mohammad Naim (21) took the score to 67 before both departed.
Captain Naeem Islam went next to bring the score to 69/3, and the match at an even keel.
