Tamim, Taskin, Mustafizur express grief for Chawkbazar fire victims

Taskin Ahmed, in his Facebook page, urged the citizens to come to the aid of the injured victims who are now receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and Mitford Hospital

Bangladesh cricketers Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman expressed deep grief after a fire grazed through several multi-storey buildings at Nanda Kumar Lane, in Chawkbazar’s Churihatta area of Old Dhaka Wednesday night, killing 67 people as of now, and injuring several others.

In his Facebook page, Tamim said, “Prayers for the victims of Chawk Bazar May Allah give them strength.”

Taskin, in his Facebook page, urged the citizens to come to the aid of the injured victims who are now receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and Mitford Hospital.

He said, “Those who are currently in the vicinity of the Dhaka Central Shaheed Minar, please go to Dhaka Medical. The victims of the Chawkbazar fire are needing a lot of blood. Let us save lives by donating blood on the occasion of the Language Day that we have achieved after shedding a lot of blood."

Meanwhile, Mustafizur said, “We are deeply saddened after the fire in capital Dhaka’s Chawkbazar. My consolation goes out to the affected families. I am praying for the salvation of the departed souls.”
