Bangladesh Cricket Board has selected Ebadat Hossain and Shafiul Islam to replace injured pacer Taskin Ahmed in the Test and one-day international squad of forthcoming New Zealand tour.

Taskin was named in both the original squad but the 23-year old received a lateral ligament injury in his left ankle during a Bangladesh Premier League game to be ruled out from the Tigers’ squad.

Taskin,  who played both his last ODI and Test back in 2017 during South Africa tour, picked up 22 wickets, highest in this season’s BPL till date and expected to be a chief weapon in the Bangladesh arsenal at pace-friendly condition of New Zealand.

The 25-year old Ebadat is yet to make an international debut while 29-yar old Shafiul, who played his last ODI back in 2016 at home, has played 56 ODIs so far.

The three-match ODI will start at 13th February and the three-match Test series will begin at 28th February.
