Islami Bank East Zone and BCB North Zone battled each other to a tame draw in what was a batsman-dominated encounter at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi

Opener Anamul Haque scored 86 while Kamrul Islam Rabbi took 4/59 to give Prime Bank South Zone a seven-wicket win over Walton Central Zone on the fourth and final day of their fourth round Bangladesh Cricket League match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Friday.

In the other match, Islami Bank East Zone and BCB North Zone battled each other to a tame draw in what was a batsman-dominated encounter at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.

East Zone v North Zone

East Zone started the day on 90/2 with Mominul (32 not out) and Mahmudul Hasan (five not out) in the middle.

They formed a massive 207-run partnership where Mominul completed his century before Mahmudul departed for 83 with the team score reading 288/3.

Captain Mominul would depart with the score on 362/4 before he would call the declaration.

Perhaps he was eyeing another double century, but this was nevertheless the batsman’s 19th first-class ton, and it was a fast one off 190 balls.

It included 23 boundaries and three sixes.

In reply, North Zone batted for 16 overs and scored 116 runs at a fast run rate of 7.25 runs per over.

Jahurul Islam was the only batsman to be dismissed for 15, by Taijul Islam, while Junaid Siddique and Farhad Hossain scored 51 and 50 respectively before the match ended as a draw.

7TH BCL, ROUND 4, DAY 4

East Zone 466 & 362/4d in 75.3 overs (Mominul 194, Mahmudul 83) drew with North Zone 377 & 116/1 in 16 overs (Junaid 51*, Farhad 50*)
