In the other match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Chittagong, a spirited bowling performance from Prime Bank South Zone kept Walton Central Zone to 234/8.

Central Zone v South Zone

South Zone decided to field first and that proved to be the right decision as they had Central Zone at 16/2 with Pinak Ghosh (nine) and Abdul Mazid (nought) both back in the pavilion.

Shadman Islam and Marshall Ayub then formed a partnership to take the score to 101 before Marshall was dismissed after scoring 44.

Shadman (60) was then run out by Tushar Imran when the score was 127/4.

Shuvagata Hom (27) and Jaker Ali (19) then perished in quick succession with Central Zone reeling on 167/6.

From there, another partnership was formed by Taibur Rahman and Mosharraf Hossain (21) when the score was 225/7.

Another wicket, that of Robiul Hoque (nought), fell in the very next delivery, in the 87th over.

Taibur remained not out on 43 as the chances for a 300-plus first innings total for Central Zone remained slim.

Al-Amin Hossain was the pick of the bowlers for South Zone with 3/51 in 22 overs.

Mehedi Hasan and Abdur Razzak also had good performances, taking 2/50 and 2/69 respectively.
