Mashrafe bin Mortaza felt some discomfort in his second spell but the captain is confident that he will play the remaining matches of the ODI series

Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza informed that he is not fully fit yet as he is nursing a slight hamstring injury.

The Tigers won the first ODI by five wickets against the visiting West Indies.

It was a landmark match for Mashrafe as he played his 200th ODI Sunday, the first such Bangladeshi to do so.

He marked the occasion with a brilliant match-winning performance and was adjudged man-of-the-match for his superb bowing.

In his landmark day, Mashrafe bowled brilliantly in the first ODI as the experienced campaigner ended the first innings with bowling figure of 10-0-30-3.

Mashrafe took the wickets of Shai Hope (43), Darren Bravo (19) and the West Indies stand-in captain Rovman Powell (14).

But the skipper said he is not fully fit, and suffering from a slight hamstring injury.

He felt some discomfort in his second spell but the captain is confident that he will play the remaining matches of the ODI series.

“I am carrying the same injury since the Zimbabwe series (groin). Now I am also suffering from a slight hamstring injury, which was not there earlier. So in terms of fitness level, I am in no better position than the last series. Although I have taken three wickets Sunday, I am not in my best fitness level at the moment,” said Mashrafe to the media during the post-match press conference Sunday.

Bangladesh will play their second ODI Tuesday at the same venue.
