North, South Zone draw in BCL

Prime Bank South Zone veteran spinner Abdur Razzak claimed his 36th five-wicket haul in first-class cricket as their game against BCB North Zone finished in a draw

Walton Central Zone have made a step forward to finish as the champion of the Bangladesh Cricket League. 

Central Zone escaped a defeat to finish the third round match against Islami Bank East Zone, and shared points that very much kept alive their championship hope. 

After round three, Central Zone remained the only team to have secured a win in the season and with the fourth and the final round left in the tournament, the side are on top of the table with 16.82 points. 

BCB North Zone are second with 11.49.

Prime Bank South Zone veteran spinner Abdur Razzak claimed his 36th five-wicket haul in first-class cricket as their game against North Zone finished in a draw.

Left-arm spinner Razzak claimed six for 126 as the game against North Zone in Chittagong could see only three innings of action before the game finished in a draw on the final day.

Day four resumed with North Zone batting on 382 for seven in the first innings, and added another 12 runs to the tally before losing all of their wickets. 

Razzak bagged six for South Zone to take his first-class wickets tally to 563.

South Zone posted 248 losing five wickets before the match officials removed the bails to signal the end of the game. 

Al Amin and Mehedi Hasan added unbeaten 75 and 60 respectively to the total. 

Opener Anamul Haque scored 66 at the top to stable a shaky start after the fall of Shahriar Nafees for a seven-ball duck.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and pacer Ebadat Hossain picked up two wickets each for North Zone.

SOUTH ZONE 329 & 248/5 in 64 overs (Al Amin 75*, Anamul 66) drew with NORTH ZONE 394 IN 171.1 overs (Junaid 112, Razzak 6/126)
