Sanjamul Islam picked up five wickets as Prime Bank South Zone’s first innings finished on 329
A green wicket at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra has turned into a hunting ground for the pacers as batsmen of both Walton Central Zone and Islami Bank East Zone are feeling the heat.
On day two in the third round of the 7th Bangladesh Cricket League, Thursday, Central Zone pacers ruled the roost with right-arm pacer Shahidul Islam recording his second first-class five-wicket haul.
In the other game, BCB North Zone left-arm spinner Sanjamul Islam was in the limelight with his 15th five-for of the format, and brought an end to the opposition innings for 329 runs.
North Zone v South Zone
Sanjamul picked up five wickets as Prime Bank South Zone’s first innings finished on 329.
At stumps, North Zone were batting on 136/2, trailing by 193 runs.
Mehedi Hasan resumed batting on 23 and converted his innings to a half-century and scored 63 runs to propel South Zone to a competitive score.
Sanjamul conceded 87 runs for five wickets to lead the North Zone attack.

In reply, North Zone had a shaky start losing opener Rishad Hossain for a duck and Farhad Hossain for four to leave the team reeling on 10 for two in the seventh over.
From there, opener Junaid Siddique and Naeem Islam produced an unbeaten 126-run stand for the third wicket to stabilize things.
At stumps, Junaid remained unbeaten on 70 with Naeem not out on 62.
