“I have played against him many times. We played in two youth World Cups and now playing against each other in national team. I know a lot of things about him, so it was easy for me to plan against him. That brought the success,” said Miraz.

Bangladesh’s off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz not only got 12 wickets to beat West Indies in the second and final Test but also got another battle in the war as he completely won over opponents’ most dangerous batsman.

West Indian batsman Shimron Hetmeyer looked most threatening throughout the series but Miraz took complete domination as he dismissed the left-handed Caribbean batsman all four times in the series.

Hetmyer was going all guns blazing as he was dealing with sixes, hitting eight boundaries but ultimately was caught at long on by Mohammad Mithun off a Miraz delivery to be dismissed for 93 off just 92 balls.

The dashing West Indian looked even more threatening even in the first innings of the first Test before Miraz got rid of him for 63 and that gave hosts control en route to their 64-run win in that match in Chittagong.

Miraz once again said his success against 21-year old Hetmeyer came thanks to his plan.

“I have played against him many times. We played in two youth World Cups and now playing against each other in national team. I know a lot of things about him, so it was easy for me to plan against him. That brought the success,” said Miraz.
