South Zone look to fight for a draw

South Zone will be fighting for a draw in the final day as they have 10 wickets in hand and trail East Zone’s first innings by 80 runs in their second innings after following on

A 135-run opening partnership between Anamul Haque and Shahriar Nafees helped South Zone show some rearguard actions after following on in the third day of the second round Bangladesh Cricket League match against East Zone at the Shahid Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.

South Zone will be fighting for a draw in the final day as they have 10 wickets in hand and trail East Zone’s first innings by 80 runs in their second innings after following on. The day started with South Zone at 89/4 and they eventually were bundled out for 258 in 81.1 overs in reply to East Zone’s mammoth 473 runs. 

Mahedi Hasan was the top scorer with 86 while Raqibul Hasan was the second highest scorer with 66. It was a collective bowling effort from East zone and Enamul Haque jnr finished with the most number of wickets and figures of 4/121.
