BPL T20 franchise Rajshahi Kings have appointed former South Africa cricketer Lance Klusener as their new head coach, ahead of the sixth season of the money-spinning tournament, starting in January next year. The Kings confirmed this on their official Facebook page Thursday night.

Former New Zealand cricketer Daniel Vettori was previously the head coach of the Kings but as the start of the tournament was pushed back to January from November this year, he became unavailable.

The Kings said on their page, “Rajshahi Kings are proud to present Lance ‘The Zulu’ Klusener as our head coach for the upcoming BPL season. One of the greatest all-rounders of his time, Klusener was known for his heavy hitting and finishing capabilities with both bat and the ball.”

Klusener, who played 49 Test matches and 171 ODIs for the Proteas, previously worked as the batting coach of Zimbabwe.
