The body of the late Abahani Limited director will be taken to the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for the second namaz-e-janaza, scheduled to take place at 9am
The first namaz-e-janaza of Bangladesh Cricket Board director and chairman of the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 governing council Afzalur Rahman Sinha will be held at the Acme Corporate office in Kalyanpur, Dhaka at 8am Friday.
The body of the late Abahani Limited director will be taken to the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for the second namaz-e-janaza, scheduled to take place at 5:30pm. The third namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dhaka Club at 10:30am, and the body of the deceased will then be taken to his ancestral home in Bikrampur. Following Jummah prayers, the final namaz-e-janaza will be performed and he will then be buried.
Sinha, 68, breathed his last Wednesday evening at Gleneagles Global Hospital in Chennai, India. Sinha, a freedom fighter, was elected to the BCB in 1998 and had successfully served in many capacities, including that of the board’s treasurer.
A graduate from University of Dhaka, Sinha was chairman of Acme Laboratories Limited, Acme Group, chairman and managing director of Acme Agrovet and Beverages Limited, managing director of Acme IT Limited and Sinha Printers Limited president of Bangladesh Billiards and Snooker Federation and Surjo Tarun club, director of Abahani and chairman of Abahani’s hockey unit.
