BCB president Nazmul Hasan said a few Bangladesh cricketers are contemplating quitting Test match cricket, including the likes of Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman.

The Tigers recently suffered a 2-0 series defeat against the West Indies in the two-match Test series.

"Now in our country, I see that some of our senior players are not interested in playing Test cricket. I mean to say like Shakib. He doesn’t want to play Test cricket. Mustafizur also doesn’t want to play Tests. He did not say it directly but he tries to avoid it. Maybe injury is one reason," said Nazmul.

"Now what happened many of them don’t want to play Tests because it is also very hard to play," he added.

The BCB boss also informed that they have barred Mustafizur from taking part in franchise-based T20 leagues for the next two years.

"It is very disappointing that he often got injury while playing overseas franchised-based leagues and we missed the services of him. I think it is not acceptable under any circumstances," he said.

"I don’t know what will happen but I have told the board not to allow him to play foreign leagues for next two years," added Nazmul.
