BCB president Nazmul Hasan earlier informed that the BPL is likely to begin in October this year
The start of the sixth edition of the BPL T20 is likely to be delayed to January next year, hinted the BPL governing council.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan earlier informed that the BPL is likely to begin in October this year. But the BPL GC stated to the media that due to the National Election at that time, the start of the money-spinning tournament might be postponed.
“It is tough to arrange a big tournament like the BPL just before the National Election. It will be tough to secure all the three venues and all the teams just before the Election. We can say if we can assure security and all the other facilities for the franchise teams and players before the National Election, then the tournament will commence. Otherwise it might be shifted to January next year after the Election,” said BPL GC member secretary Ismail Haider Mallick Wednesday.
But according to a BCB source, no final decision regarding the fixture of BPL 6 has been taken as of yet. The matter is still up for discussion and a final decision will be taken soon.
