Sunamganj Government Jubilee High School and Police Lines School and College of Bogra advanced to the semi-finals of the National School Cricket Tournament Tuesday. Manikganj Model High School however, were unlucky to exit in the quarter-final.
Persistent rain meant not a single ball was bowled in their last eight clash with Sunamganj at Moulvibazar District Stadium. As a result, the toss was used to determine the winner in accordance with the by-laws and it was Sunamganj who went through.
In the other quarter-final at Tangail District Stadium, Bogra defeated Narail Government High School by seven wickets. The match was reduced to 35 overs per side due to rain.
Batting first, Narail posted 118 runs for the loss of nine wickets. In reply, Bogra romped home riding on player of the match Rakibul Islam Sajib's 69.
