Unbeaten in the league stage, Air Asia Rajshahi Masters emerged as the first finalist in the Walton Masters Cricket League 2018.
Led by former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mashud, Rajshahi’s last league game against Amber Chittagong Masters was abandoned due to rain in Cox’s Bazar’s Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Friday.
With seven points, including three wins and an abandoned match, Rajshahi stormed into the final of the 100-ball cricket competition with ease.
On the other hand, in the first game of the day, Sylhet Sixers Masters, captained by former national captain Naimur Rahman, defeated Raw Nations Khulna Masters by 12 runs (D/L method) in a rain-affected match.
In the last game of the day, Beximco Dhaka Masters won by five wickets against Chittagong, led by former Tigers captain Akram Khan. With two wins in three matches, Dhaka are on the verge of reaching the final.
The two remaining league games will be held Saturday. Both the matches will be held in the morning with Chittagong taking on Khulna and Dhaka facing Sylhet.
The final will be held at the same venue Saturday at 3pm.
