The sixth and last round of the Bangladesh Cricket League is set to start from Tuesday. Table-topper BCB North Zone will take on Prime Bank South Zone in Khulna’s Sheikh Abu Naser Cricket Stadium. With 60 points and two wins in the season, North Zone are way ahead of the other three teams in the competition.
South Zone are at second after five rounds with 47 points. The side have neither won nor lost a game this season. The side in the last match will be boosted with the appearance of veteran pacer Mashrafe bin Mortaza. Mashrafe following the completion of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2017-18 season had been passing leisure time and is all set to return in the last round for South Zone.
In the second game of the round, Walton Central Zone will take on Islami Bank East Zone in Rajshahi’s Shaheed Kamruzzaman Cricket Stadium. Central Zone are third with 42 points while East Zone are at the bottom with 41 points and will look to win the match so as not to finish the season as the last team in the table.
Central Zone will miss the service of national all-rounder Mahmudullah. Mahmudullah had travelled to Rajshahi with the team to play the season finale but was ruled out of action Monday due to recurrence of an old injury.
