Four centuries were scored on the fourth and final day of the Bangladesh Cricket League’s fourth round Friday but both the matches ended in draws.
Prime Bank South Zone’s Tushar Imran, Islami Bank East Zone’s Liton Das and Afif Hossain and BCB North Zone’s Mizanur Rahman all blasted hundreds in what turned out to be a run-filled day.
South Zone v East Zone
At Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, South Zone, resuming their second innings on 142/3 in 32 overs, declared their innings on 311 losing seven wickets in 68 overs, Tushar leading the way with 103. Mohammad Mithun chipped in with 66.
In their second innings, East Zone posted a commanding total, scoring 224 for the loss of one wicket in 45 overs before stumps were drawn.
Liton made an unbeaten 113 while Afif scored an undefeated 100.
South Zone had earlier made 403 in their first innings while East Zone scored 300 in their first essay.
Central Zone v North Zone
Replying to Walton Central Zone’s huge first innings total of 529, North Zone registered 300 in 93.1 overs, Mushfiqur Rahim top-scoring for his side with 111 at Shaheed Chandu Cricket Stadium in Bogra.
Central Zone’s Ebadat Hossain bagged four wickets.
Following on in their second innings, North Zone made 213/2 in 65.2 overs at stumps, Mizanur and Nazmul Hossain Shanto remaining not out on 100 and 89 respectively.
North Zone continue to lead the points table with 41 points, including one win, while East Zone are second with two points less. South Zone are third with 38 points while Central Zone are at the bottom with 29 points.
