Glory School and College have emerged as the Dhaka Metropolis phase champion in the Prime Bank School Cricket 2018. The winner Wednesday defeated Kodomtola East Bashabo School by 28 runs in Dhaka University’s Sergeant Jahurul Haque Hall field.
Glory School and College opted to bat first, scoring 115 before losing all of their wickets. Opener Billal Hossain made 26, the highest of the innings. Rimon Mia bagged four wickets for Kodomtola East Bashabo School.
Later, Glory School and College bowlers defended the below-par total, boosted by Arnab Debnath’s five-for. Kodomtola East Bashabo School managed to post 87 on the board.
Prime Bank Limited’s vice president (marketing division) Nur Hossain and BCB’s age-level tournament committee member secretary Mohammad Salim, along with other BCB high-ups, were present during the prize distribution ceremony.
The national championship of the tournament involving seven divisional champions and Dhaka Metro champion Glory School and College will be held in the first week of May. The grand finale of the national championship will be held at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
