Title race wide open as Abahani lose
Legends of Rupganj and Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club’s wins in the Super League phase of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2017-18 season have suddenly made the title race interesting. Victories registered by the two clubs have cut short the difference with table-topper Abahani Limited, who lost their second game in the phase Tuesday. Two centuries were recorded on the day, by Sheikh Jamal’s overseas recruit Unmukt Chand and Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club opener Liton Das. To add to that, six half-centuries were posted in the round with Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza scoring 90 in his maiden DPL appearance this season.
