Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club clinched a super six spot in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2017-18 season after defeating Brothers Union by 74 runs at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Cricket Stadium in Fatullah Tuesday. Sheikh Jamal now have 12 points and moved to fifth position in the points table after 11 round of matches. In the other games of the day, Agrani Bank Limited defeated Legends of Rupganj by six wickets at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka while Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Kalabagan Krira Chakra by two wickets at BKSP 3. Sk Jamal v Brothers Sheikh Jamal scored only 184 losing all of their wickets in 47.1 overs. Opener Saykat Ali was the top-scorer for Sheikh Jamal with 55. All-rounder duo Tanbir Hayder and Elias Sunny made 33 and 31 respectively. Khaled Ahmed took three wickets for Brothers while Sohrawardi Shuvo, Alok Kapali and Shakhawat Hossain bagged two each. In reply, Brothers were all out for just 110 in 39.2 overs. Elias notched three wickets and was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance. Rupganj v Agrani Bank Rupganj scored 204 for the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 50 overs. Middle-order batsman Tushar Imran missed a well-deserved century, scoring 98 off 121 balls with eight fours and a six. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim scored 21. Al Amin Hossain was the best bowler for Agrani Bank as the pacer took four wickets conceding 44 runs. In pursuit of 205, Agrani Bank reached their target in 47.1 overs, riding on opener Shahriar Nafees’ 82. Agrani Bank's Dhiman Ghosh and Shamsul Islam scored unbeaten 49 and 41 respectively. Mohammedan v Kalabagan Mohammedan clinched a thrilling win over Kalabagan. Kalabagan registered 260 on the scoreboard losing all of their wickets in 47.5 overs. No 3 batsman Mohammad Ashraful smashed a brilliant century as the right-hander scored 127 off 124 balls with 13 fours and three sixes. Mohammedan bowlers bowled well in the slog overs and restricted Kalabagan to 260 in the end. In reply, Mohammedan managed to reach the destination with four balls to spare. Mohammedan's Taijul Islam was unbeaten on 34 while Rony Talukdar was the top-scorer with 51.
