Table-topper Abahani Limited suffered a stunning eight-wicket loss to holder Gazi Group Cricketers as they were bundled out for just 113 runs, thanks to pacer Yasin Arafat Mishu’s record-breaking bowling figure of 8/40, at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Cricket Stadium in Fatullah Wednesday.
In the other matches of the day, Prime Bank Cricket Club won by five wickets against Shinepukur Cricket Club at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka while second placed Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club beat Agrani Bank Cricket Club by three wickets at BKSP in Savar.
Abahani v Gazi GroupThe 19-year old young pacer Yasin produced a stunning display of fast bowling as he achieved the best bowling figure in the history of Bangladesh’s List A cricket. Gazi Group elected to field and Yasin bowled superbly throughout the innings to clean up Abahani in just 26.1 overs. Indian recruit Manan Sharma scored 46 while wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Mithun made 40 for Abahani. The remaining two wickets were taken by Gazi Group spinner Tipu Sultan.
In reply, Gazi Group reached their target in 29.5 overs. Opener Jahurul Islam was not out on 52.
Prime Bank v ShinepukurShinepukur, asked to bat first, were all out for 251 in 49.5 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Uday Kaul scored 52 while opener Shadman Islam made 44. Prime Bank’s Monir Hossain and Shariful Islam took three wickets each.
In pursuit of 252, Prime Bank chased down the target quite easily with more than three overs to spare. Middle-order batsman Nahidul Islam was unbeaten on 73 and guided his side to victory.
Agrani Bank v DoleshwarInvited to bat first, Agrani Bank posted 203 losing seven wickets in their stipulated 50 overs. Lower-order batsman Shamsul Islam scored an unbeaten 64 while No 8 batsman Islamul Ahsan made 46 to help Agrani Bank cross the 200-run mark. Doleshwar’s Sharifullah and Zohaib Khan took three wickets each.
