Afghanistan-Bangladesh series likely in India
Bangladesh cricket team's away series against Afghanistan in June this year is likely to be held in India. Afghanistan Cricket Board initially planned to host Bangladesh in the UAE. However, the ACB failed to set terms with the concerned authority in the UAE and was unable to find venues to play the limited-over matches against Bangladesh. ACB later communicated with its alliances in India and has come to the decision of hosting Bangladesh in Dehradun for three ODIs and two T20Is. If everything falls into place, the series will begin on June 1. However, a final decision is yet to be made by the ACB as well as the Bangladesh Cricket Board. BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan informed Dhaka Tribune that discussions are still in progress. Afghanistan are not able to host international cricket at home due to security concern. Bangladesh till date have played only one bilateral series against war-torn Afghanistan, who are quickly developing into an established cricketing nation. Afghanistan toured Bangladesh in 2016 for a three-match ODI series. Bangladesh won the series 2-1.
