Fizz sold to Mumbai for INR 2.2 crore
Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman will be playing for Mumbai Indians in the 11th season of the Indian Premier League T20 after the reigning champion recruited him for Indian rupees two crore 20 lakhs ($3,43,000) following failed bids by Delhi Daredevils. Mustafizur appeared for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two editions of the tournament but was released this year. The Fizz had tasted title success in the 2016 edition under the captaincy of Australia's David Warner. Sunrisers on the other hand picked up ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan for Indian rupees two crore. Shakib, who appeared for Kolkata Knight Riders in the last six editions of the tournament was released by the franchise this season. Shakib will be the second Bangladesh cricketer to feature for Sunrisers after Mustafizur. Other Bangladesh cricketers named in the IPL auction this year are opener Tamim Iqbal, all-rounder Mahmudullah, off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz, wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das, batsman Sabbir Rahman and pacer Abul Hasan. The remainder of the players in the auction and from those unsold on the first day will be put for auction on the second day of the auction Sunday. The IPL 2018 is scheduled to start on April 4.
