Bangladesh U-19 will face neighbour India as their Super League quarter-final opponent in the U-19 World Cup Cricket at John Davies Oval Ground Friday.
England won their last group stage match against Canada by a big margin of 282 runs. England qualified for the Super League as group champion with three wins in as many games. Bangladesh also qualified for the next round as the runners-up of Group C.
Bangladesh won two matches against Namibia and Canada but lost against England by seven wickets in their last group match.
Earlier, a superb batting effort from England, led by hundreds from Will Jacks and Liam Banks, led their side to their highest-ever U-19 ODI total of 383 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs before their bowlers combined to bowl England to their second biggest youth ODI victory.
Canada needed to reach the total within 38 overs to qualify for the Super League quarter-final; they never even got close, slipping to 20 losing four wickets less than seven overs into their chase. They fought hard, reaching 75/5, but in the end England were just too good, each of their first four bowlers taking at least two wickets, giving Canada no respite.
They deservedly top the group, while Canada will enter the plate alongside Namibia.
