Bangladesh U-19 cricket team’s second official warm-up game, against Pakistan, ahead of the U-19 World Cup, got washed off by rain in Christchurch Wednesday.
The other warm-up matches between Papua New Guinea and host New Zealand, West Indies and Zimbabwe and between Afghanistan and Namibia faced a similar fate to that of Bangladesh.
This means the young Tigers are now set to start their World Cup campaign backed by three defeats - two in unofficial practice games against Otago A team and one against Afghanistan in the official practice match.
Bangladesh will face Namibia in their opening Group C game in Christchurch Saturday. At the same venue, the young Bangladesh cricketers will take on Canada in their second group stage match Monday. Bangladesh in their third and the final group game of the tournament will face England in Queenstown next Thursday.
